This privacy policy explains how Syntesa sp/f (“we”, “us”, “our”) processes the personal data you provide when participating at Jobmatch and when using our login and profile system. The purpose of this policy is to explain what data we collect, how we use it, how long we store it, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Please note that the GDPR does not apply to information that is already publicly available.

2. Purposes of processing

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

Participation at Jobmatch

  • Creating and maintaining your user profile
  • Allowing you to log in and reuse your profile at future Jobmatch events
  • Printing your badge for the event, including your name and education

Matching and communication

  • Matching participants with relevant companies and JobPrát opportunities
  • Contacting you regarding evaluation of the event or follow-up after Jobmatch
  • Using your areas of professional interest to create relevant matches with companies

Website interaction

  • Handling comments and preventing spam
  • Responding to contact form submissions
  • Managing newsletter sign-ups

Website functionality

  • Managing login sessions and remembering preferences
  • Supporting media uploads

3. Legal basis

4. Data retention and deletion

Retention
We store your personal data as long as your profile is active or after 3 years after the last activity. If you want your profile to be deleted, please send us an email on katrin@syntesa.fo and we will delete your data.

Deletion
You may request deletion of your profile at any time.

You can edit your profile yourself at any time, but you cannot delete it directly.
To delete your profile, please email katrin@syntesa.fo, and we will delete your profile and all associated data as soon as possible.

5. Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Withdraw consent
  • Restrict processing
  • Object to certain processing activities

6. Disclosure and data processors

We do not share your personal data with Jobmatch companies without your explicit consent.

We may share anonymised statistical data with Jobmatch participants.

We use trusted data processors (e.g., hosting providers, analytics services, anti-spam tools) to operate the platform.
These processors are bound by Data Processing Agreements in accordance with GDPR Article 28.

We do not transfer personal data outside the EU/EEA without a valid legal basis.

7. Security measures

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including:

  • HTTPS/SSL encryption
  • Secure password storage (hashing + salting)
  • Restricted access for authorised personnel
  • Secure handling of uploaded CVs
  • Regular server and software updates

If you upload images, please remove EXIF GPS data; visitors may download and extract metadata.

We use Google Analytics, which processes cookies and usage data.

You can at any time:

  • Log in and view your profile
  • Edit or update any of your information
  • Upload or delete your CV
  • Add or remove your LinkedIn link
  • Change your areas of interest
