The Role
Ocean Rainforest is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking CFO to join our global leadership team. This key position will play a vital role in driving financial performance and supporting our mission of sustainable aquaculture across the North Atlantic and North East Pacific. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will collaborate closely with the executive team to enhance financial strategies, operational efficiency, and overall business growth. We are looking for a leader who thrives in a fast-scaling environment and knows how to prioritize and drive critical initiatives at different stages of growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with Ocean Rainforest’s mission and goals.
- Lead capital raising efforts, including Series B financing.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
- Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risks, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the board and key stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for growth, cost efficiency, and operational optimization.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Enhance and mature financial processes and systems.
- Support major projects, including site developments and capital investments.
- Lead and develop a small finance team while promoting cross-departmental collaboration.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, MBA , CFA or a related field.
- Proven experience as a CFO with minimum 10 year experience, preferably in biotechnology or sustainable industries.
- Ideally, strong experience with capital raises.
- Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills.
- Proven track record in securing investments and managing large-scale projects.
- Experience driving company growth strategies and navigating various funding scenarios.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, adept at fostering collaboration and building connections across diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Capacity to balance long-term strategic planning with hands-on management of daily financial operations.
