Í Tórshavnar kommunu er vítt til veggja og høgt til loftið. Hví? Tí vit eru nógv ymisk fakfólk, ið skulu veita nógvar ymiskar tænastur til eina sera fjøltáttaða borgarafjøld. Vit tæna borgarum líka frá vøggustovu til eldrabúpláss.

Uppgávan hjá starvsfólkum okkara er at veita borgarum eina góða tænastu, og tí leggja vit stóran dent á, at øll starvsfólk okkara hava góðar og dagførdar førleikar, sum røkka inn í framtíðina. Tí samfelagið broytist við nógvari ferð, og nýggjar og øðrvísi uppgávur stinga seg framhaldandi upp. Gløgg høvd og nærlagdar hendur eru tískil høgt í metum. Vit eru tí forvitin eftir at vita, hvør gongur runt við førleikunum og hugburðinum, sum tíðin krevur og okkum tørvar.

Hóast vit eru størsta arbeiðsplássið í landinum við 2200 starvsfólkum, eru vit øll saman um at arbeiða fyri eina betri kommunu. Tess betri førleikar vit hava í starvsfólkahópinum, tess betri verður kommunan at búgva í. Tórshavn municipality – together for a better municipality

In the municipality of Tórshavn there are wide walls and high ceilings. Why? Because we are many different professional groups that have to provide a lot of different services to a very complex civic body. We serve citizens from cradle care to senior housing.

The mission of our employees is to provide a good service to the citizens, and therefore we place great emphasis on all our employees having good and up-to-date skills that will reach into the future. Because society is changing at a great pace, and new and different tasks continue to pile up. Astute heads and attentive hands are consequently highly rated. We are therefore curious to know who is going about with the skills and attitude that time demands and the municipality needs.

Even though we are the largest workplace in the country with 2200 employees, we are all together working for a better municipality. The better skills we have in the staff group, the better the municipality will be to live in. Because our work is concretely reflected in people’s everyday lives: We provide sewers, organize the bus route, manage roads, take care of waste, issue building permits, create plans for new parts of town, digitalize self-payments, make information accessible, and write policies.

In the municipality of Tórshavn, there are similar jobs in many different fields. The diverse job mix gives you a good chance of seeing yourself as part of one of our departments.
