You may not realise it, but every day you use services that the Telecommunications Authority is involved in. Whether you are making calls via mobile or fixed-line telephony, communicating over the internet, or using VHF radio at sea.
We manage and allocate numbers for telecommunications, frequencies for radio communications, issue radio licences, conduct examinations and issue certificates for radio operation, and supervise the telecommunications market to ensure that it is well organised, innovative, and serves the needs of society. In addition, we map critical national infrastructure and carry out vulnerability assessments in order to strengthen network security in the Faroe Islands.
